Malvern’s Friday Brewery specialises in bottle conditioned beers, though it also delivers cask ale to local pubs. You will be lucky to find its newest brew in the vicinity though, because it is brewed for export. Bagnères Bière Blonde is destined for the spa town of Bagnères-de-Bigorre, which is Malvern’s twin town in France. Some have been spotted in Link Wines in Malvern Link, so if you’re quick you might avoid a ski trip abroad to Bagnères and nearby La Mongie.
Bottles of the brewery’s beers are also on offer in the Malvern Theatre complex and often on draught in the Great Malvern Hotel round the corner. But the brewery is also to get onto the bar in the Foley Arms, the Wetherspoon outlet up the hill at the top of town – a meet-the-brewer event is being held in the downstairs bar on 17th November to celebrate.
It is good to see Friday going from strength to strength, expanding the operation with crowd funding delivering new brewing vessels to give them a 10 barrel per week capacity.
