And apart from the weather, that\u2019s pretty much how the latest <a style=\"color: #ec7a08;weight: bold\"\" title=\"Branch Social\" href=\"https:\/\/worcester.camra.org.uk\/Duplicator\/activities#SocialEvents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Branch Social<\/a> went.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row use_custom_gutter=&#8221;on&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;3%||3%||true&#8221; make_equal=&#8221;on&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243; text_font=&#8221;||||||||&#8221; text_text_align=&#8221;justify&#8221; text_text_color=&#8221;#4b4f54&#8243; min_height=&#8221;100%&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;-5px||&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;10%||10%||true&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Under lowering skies, that threatened more rain, thirty-one intrepid CAMRA members and partners boarded The Earl. The Earl is a historic 50-seater former launch ferry run by <a style=\"color: #ec7a08;weight: bold\"\" title=\"Worcester Boat Trips\" href=\"http:\/\/www.worcesterboattrips.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Worcester Boat Trips<\/a> ,at Worcester South Quay.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/worcester.camra.org.uk\/Duplicator\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Boattrip02.jpg&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243; min_height=&#8221;100%&#8221;][\/et_pb_image][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row custom_padding=&#8221;0%||0%||true&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;-3%||-3%||true&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243; text_font=&#8221;||||||||&#8221; text_text_align=&#8221;justify&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Welcomed aboard by Andy and Captain Jake we were soon making our way upriver, out of the City and into the Worcestershire countryside. The on-board sideboard that serves as the bar housed a range of bottled beers, including offerings from Bathams, Holdens, Enville, Sharpes, Fullers and Indian Runner, together with a selection of bottled ciders. Even under grey skies, the river-side scenery was wonderful, a reminder of how fortunate we are to live in this part of the world.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row custom_padding=&#8221;5%||3%||false&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243; text_font=&#8221;||||||||&#8221; text_text_align=&#8221;justify&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The landing stage at the Camp Inn, damaged by Storm Doris in February, has not yet been repaired. We all still managed to disembark without mishap and proceeded to form a long but orderly queue at the tiny bar of the <a style=\"color: #ec7a08;weight: bold\"\" title=\"Camp Inn, Grimley\" href=\"https:\/\/whatpub.com\/pubs\/WOR\/1246\/camp-house-inn-grimley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Camp Inn, Grimley<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row use_custom_gutter=&#8221;on&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;0%||0%||true&#8221; make_equal=&#8221;on&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243; text_font=&#8221;||||||||&#8221; text_text_align=&#8221;justify&#8221; text_text_color=&#8221;#4b4f54&#8243; min_height=&#8221;100%&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;-5px||&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;1%||1%||true&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>On tap at the bar were Bathams Best Bitter, Wadsworth 6X and Wainwright (Marston\u2019s), together with Thatcher\u2019s and Robinson\u2019s ciders. The rain, mostly, held off allowing us to sit in the garden overlooking the river, careful to avoid the free-roaming geese and predatory peacock.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/worcester.camra.org.uk\/Duplicator\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Boattrip03.jpg&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243; min_height=&#8221;100%&#8221;][\/et_pb_image][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row custom_padding=&#8221;3%||3%||true&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243; text_font=&#8221;||||||||&#8221; text_text_align=&#8221;justify&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>As dusk fell we were shepherded back onto the boat for the 40-minute trip back to Worcester and a raid on the sideboard. On arrival, many of us made the short stagger up to <a style=\"color: #ec7a08;weight: bold\"\" title=\"The Plough, Worcester\" href=\"https:\/\/whatpub.com\/pubs\/WOR\/1020\/plough-worcester\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Plough, Worcester<\/a>  to complete the evening. <\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.24.1&#8243; text_font=&#8221;||||||||&#8221; text_text_align=&#8221;justify&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>A great time was had by all with talk of this becoming an annual event.
