Metered electric pumps can still be found and a few pubs in Scotland still use the traditional tall fount air pressure system. Pubs are increasingly using systems which pump beer electrically from the cask to taps on the pub wall. Some handpumps may be assisted by an additional pump between the cask and the bar to overcome potential issues with deep cellars or long beer lines. Additional pumps can be electric or gas powered with the most common form being the Flojet brand of gas powered pump. Although flojets require a supply of compressed air or other gas, no gas comes in contact with the beer.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row custom_padding=”4%||2%||false” _builder_version=”3.24.1″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.24.1″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.24.1″ text_font=”||||||||” text_text_align=”justify” text_text_color=”#4b4f54″ header_font=”||||||||” header_2_font=”Museo|700|||||||” min_height=”100%” custom_margin=”||” custom_padding=”|||||”]

Can you get real ale in other containers?

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row use_custom_gutter=”on” custom_padding=”||||true” make_equal=”on” _builder_version=”3.24.1″][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”3.24.1″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.24.1″ text_font=”Museo||||||||” text_text_align=”justify” text_text_color=”#4b4f54″ min_height=”100%” custom_margin=”||” custom_padding=”||||true|”]

Yes, real ale in a bottle (RAIB) where beer meeting our definition of real ale is bottled is widely available.
