Upper floors house hireable conference rooms, a dedicated private bar for exclusive events and a VIP Cupula Suite incorporating the roof top terrace with panoramic views of the city and the Malvern Hills beyond.
Worcester’s new pub offers a wide selection of drinks and snacks. The Cocky Anchor also embraces a dog-friendly policy, inviting customers to share the experience with their furry friends. Monthly events like quizzes, live music nights, ‘Meet the Brewer’ and more will be part of the lively offerings.
The unique features of the Cocky Anchor set it apart as a must-visit destination for Worcester residents and visitors: “The Cocky Anchor is not just another micropub; it’s an experience,” says Ian Paxton, owner of the new establishment. “Our aim is to provide a one-of-a-kind setting for people to enjoy great company, wonderful views and a unique historical atmosphere.”

New owners have taken over The Pheasant on New Street and are gearing up for the reopening of the venue in early September.

We will do our best to offer food straightaway, but this may be delayed whilst the kitchen is brought up to our standard. We can’t wait to open this fabulous pub and look forward to seeing you all as soon as possible.”

In 1900 Edward Elgar took delivery of a brand new Royal Sunbeam bicycle, which he nicknamed ‘Mr. Phoebus’. He cycled around the Worcestershire countryside which was inspirational for his music. I’m sure Elgar enjoyed some of the fantastic rural pubs around our part of Worcestershire, just as we do today.
